This meeting was part of the series on Fostering Resilience in Crisis and focused on how countries can optimise value creation through competitive bidding. The meeting featured Juan Carlos Boue, Legal Counsel at Curtis & Co and Research Associate at Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, and debated the value of the pure cash bonus bidding mechanism – in contrast to work programme bidding and mixed bidding, highlighting that cash bonus bidding increases competition and gives better prices for acreage.
