National policies and regulations play vital roles as catalysts for building a low carbon economy. Oil and gas producing countries will need to align and broaden the implementation of their national climate and energy policies to reduce emissions and support low-carbon technologies and investments.

Different producing countries will experience different risks and opportunities during this energy transition process, which will influence how countries align their climate, energy, oil and gas policies.

This webinar discusses:

  • How national energy, oil and gas and climate policy frameworks in oil and gas producing economies can be better aligned to support the transition to a low-carbon, climate-resilient economy
  • Challenges in developing, aligning and implementing policies and strategies geared towards decarbonization
  • Critical roles that national and international oil companies can play in supporting energy diversification, energy efficiency, and a low-carbon future
  • Economic planning, including the country approach to revenue collection, management and state investment in hydrocarbons and other sectors

This webinar is organized in partnership with the UN Environment Programme and the government of Norway’s Oil for Development Programme.
