Forging a New Path Towards an Equitable and Just Energy Transition

Petroleum-producing countries in the Commonwealth, and beyond, are striving to break the historical fossil fuel-driven development model and forge a new path towards economic resilience. This is an especially daunting task for new producers who Least Developed Countries (LDC) or Small Island Developing States (SIDS). This event will discuss:
• The issues, opportunities and challenges in managing the energy transition, eradicating poverty, dealing with climate change, and providing affordable and reliable energy for growing populations
• Areas for greater collaboration and international support to ensure they are not left behind
