The Valuation, Marketing and Metering training course is designed for individuals who need to gain a deeper understanding of various topics surrounding the sale of crude oil and natural gas to market. The course is designed for participants from countries which are either new producers or expect to enter production in the near future, and is aimed at individuals who are, or expect to be, hands-on practitioners in national oil companies, revenue authorities, petroleum authorities and the ministries of finance and petroleum. Core topics include the valuation of crude oil, methods of sales and marketing, and metering. The training starts with the fundamentals of the key topics, but will also cover more advanced, detailed material.

Attendees can expect to gain a strong base understanding of the core topics. This includes developing an understanding of the criticality of the topics, benefits of getting it right, impacts of failure, various approaches with pros and cons, and practical implementation issues.

Training is delivered through an interactive and participative structure using case studies, worked examples and group discussion, as well as traditional presentation material. Training is designed to be practically applied, and the approach is centred on the experiences of the trainers rather than pure theory.
